Clint is a resident of Rockingham, North Carolina and the owner/operator of Griffin Toyota, also located in Rockingham. He is a father of 4 children and just celebrated the birth of his first grandchild. When Clint is not working he enjoys spending time at the beach with his family.

Lee is an Early Intervention Services Supervisor with Sandhills Children’s Development Service Agency in Rockingham, North Carolina. In addition to his volunteer work with Samaritan Colony, Lee serves on the Advisory Board for Scotland County Partnership for Children and is the Finance Committee Chair and Choir Director for East Rockingham United Methodist Church. Lee resides in Rockingham.

Dr. Townsend is a practicing physician with First Health of the Carolinas and a resident of Raeford, North Carolina.

Phil is a graduate of UNC and is retired from the NBA as a professional basketball player and coach. Phil resides in Durham, North Carolina and says that “I am extremely honored to serve on The Board of Directors at Samaritan Colony. As a former client, the Colony has played a huge role in my sobriety and life. I can never thank the employees enough!”

Billy leads our weekly Sunday Spiritual Services on site in our chapel and is a semi-retired, small business owner. Billy resides in Montgomery County, North Carolina.

Becky is a former U.S. Marshall and is Director of North Carolina Governor’s Highway Safety. Becky resides in Troy, North Carolina and is involved in a variety of charitable causes in North Carolina.

Chad is an insurance agent with Innovative Financial Group, an insurance brokerage based in Wilmington, North Carolina. Chad was born in Rockingham and resides there today along with his wife, Tarrah and their two children. Chad stated that “Samaritan Colony gave me a foundation and taught me the spiritual tools to be the man I am today. I have the opportunity to sponsor other men that has been through Samaritan colony as well as service work around the community.”

Richard resides in Pinehurst, North Carolina, and previously owned painting contracting businesses in Minnesota and North Carolina. Richard is in long-term recovery and facilitated AA meetings at Hoke County Prison from 2010-2019. Richard is active in the recovery community and sponsors several men in recovery. Richard joined Samaritan Colony’s board in 2023.

Mark is a resident of Pinehurst, North Carolina. Mark is retired from the home building industry, an industry he has worked in for over 30 years. Mark is in long-term recovery and is a sponsor for several men in recovery. Mark is active in his local community of Pinehurst and the recovery community and said, "Samaritan Colony was a great support mechanism to me during the early stages of my recovery." Mark joined Samaritan Colony’s board in 2023.

Linda W. Douglas was born and raised in Richmond County and resides in Rockingham, NC. She comes from a family of 8–six girls and two boys. Linda has three children of her own--one son and two girls. She is a grandmother with four grandchildren.

Linda is now enjoying retired life, having worked as the Register of Deeds for Richmond County for 15 years. 

Samaritan Colony is thrilled to welcome Andy Andrews to our board of directors. Andy is the father of three boys, ages 22,3 and 1, and resides in Moore County with his wife, Laura. 

Andy is a Samarian Colony alum and owns C-Thru Window Cleaners in Moore County. Andy employs other Samaritan Colony graduates for his business and is very active in the recovery community, sponsoring other men on their road to recovery.

Andy summarized his thoughts about the Samaritan Colony: "I am truly grateful for what the Colony has done for me and my family. I would not be here if it weren't for the Colony. I am very grateful for the staff–Samaritan Colony saved my life."
